With Hakeem Olajuwon as the profilee today, the Zone showcases a clip from his first title team. This is NBC's intro to game 7 of the 1994 NBA Finals between the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks. Houston won this game 90-84 to take their first-ever NBA title, with Olajuwon winning Finals MVP.

Today's second clip is a classic of playoff basketball, an explosion that few have forgotten since it happened. It comes from game 5 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. New York led 72-58 entering the 4th quarter before Reggie Miller decided to take the game over. Just before this clip begins, Miller hit two threes to cut the lead to eight, and that was merely a prelude to what was to come. By the time the game was over, Miller had scored 25 points in the period (only four points shy of Eric "Sleepy" Floyd's record) and helped the Pacers to a stunning 93-86 win and a 3-2 series lead. However, the Knicks won the final two games to advance to the NBA Finals. Still, this outburst (and Miller's interactions with Knicks superfan Spike Lee) has ethced its place in the memories of true NBA fans. Enjoy the sequence!
